
The Zhitong Finance App learned that on October 6, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Li Jiachao, attended the pre-meeting press conference and said that the APEC finance ministers meeting will be held in Hong Kong from the 20th to the 21st of this month. The conference is hosted by the Ministry of Finance and hosted by the SAR government. The conference will continue discussions at other APEC financial conferences to discuss topics such as global and regional macroeconomic and financial situations, fiscal policies to support people's livelihood development, promoting digital infrastructure financing, promoting inclusive finance development according to local conditions, and promoting exchanges and cooperation among young APEC financial talents.
Li Jiachao said that he sincerely thanks the country for its trust and support for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and stressed that every effort will be made to organize the conference. During the finance ministers meeting, in addition to formal meetings, welcome dinners, seminars, and visits will also be arranged.
He mentioned that the Ministry of Finance of various countries is carrying out registration and verification work for participants. The SAR government will continue to closely communicate and cooperate with the Ministry of Finance to assist the delegation in completing registration procedures, and will also provide supporting services such as hotels, transportation, and reception in accordance with APEC's existing guidelines and requirements. He stressed that the SAR government will fully cooperate with the Ministry of Finance to provide the delegation with a high-quality participation experience and make timely announcements.
He also said that Hong Kong's first five-year plan has been announced for three weeks, and the Hong Kong government is actively introducing the significance and importance, particularly how to benefit the public. Starting tomorrow (October 7), the Legislative Council will jointly debate the five-year plan and policy report for three consecutive days.
