12:06 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Norsk Hydro (NHY.OL) expects gas supply disruptions at its Alunorte alumina refinery in Brazil to cost $90 million to $110 million in the fourth quarter. The Norwegian renewable energy group said Monday the estimated cost impact reflects the difference between contracted gas prices and spot-based gas prices. It does not expect further supply interruptions and is working on a long-term solution. Norsk Hydro added that Alunorte is pursuing legal remedies and other measures to protect its rights under the gas supply agreement. The refinery has not received contracted gas deliveries after its supplier Celba flagged natural gas availability issues in August.
