Pinterest Inc. (NYSE:PINS) has hired Amazon.com, Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) finance executive James Dibbo as its next chief financial officer.

Pinterest Names New CFO

Dibbo, 56, will take over as Pinterest’s CFO on Oct. 26, succeeding Julia Donnelly, who is leaving the company after joining in 2023.

At Amazon, Dibbo has overseen finance for businesses including Amazon Ads, Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios.

Pinterest CEO Bill Ready welcomed Dibbo, describing him as an "exceptional finance leader" with expertise across consumer technology, shopping and advertising.

"He brings a wealth of knowledge across consumer technology, shopping and advertising," Ready wrote on LinkedIn, adding that Dibbo also brings "operational discipline" to scaling complex global businesses.

Donnelly is expected to depart Pinterest on Oct. 30 to pursue an opportunity at a private, early-stage company.

Pinterest Revenue Beats Estimates

Pinterest posted $1.18 billion in second-quarter revenue, exceeding analyst expectations of $1.15 billion, according to Benzinga Pro. Adjusted earnings came in at 43 cents per share, compared with the 36 cents analysts expected.

For the third quarter, Pinterest expects revenue between $1.19 billion and $1.21 billion, roughly around the $1.20 billion analyst consensus.

The company also projects adjusted EBITDA of $335 million to $355 million, up from $311 million in the second quarter.

Price Action: On Monday, Pinterest shares closed at $20.06 after a 4.15% gain. In after-hours trading, the shares rose 0.20% to $20.10, according to Benzinga Pro.

According to Benzinga Edge Rankings, PINS ranks in the 89th percentile for Growth, while its short-, medium- and long-term price trends remain negative.
