Mexican President Simbaum said on the 5th that Mexico will strengthen the deployment of security forces in border areas and launch a new round of “mirror operations” with the US to deal with related changes in the situation. Simbaum said at a press conference on the same day that the US side had previously stated, both verbally and in writing, that shots had been fired from the Mexican side in the direction of the US. The Mexican side has requested relevant evidence from the US side, but there is currently no material to confirm this claim. Personnel from the Mexican National Guard, Ministry of Defense, and Navy also found no related shootings.
