Alstom Signs Deal with Vingroup for Vietnam Rail Projects

04:42 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alstom (ALO.PA) signed a rolling stock contract and a technology license agreement with Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup for an urban rail network in Hanoi, Vietnam. The French rail and transport equipment company will transfer its technology for train manufacturing and assembly in Vietnam, according to a Tuesday release. Alstom will supply 200 trainsets, 83 of which it will assemble at its facility in France. It will also provide tooling support and key components to enable Vingroup to manufacture and assemble the remaining 117 trainsets locally.
