S&P: UK's Construction Sector Downturn Eases in September

04:42 AM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Britain's construction sector remained in a downturn in September, but with softer rates of decline in residential, commercial and civil engineering activity levels, S&P Global said Tuesday. The seasonally adjusted S&P Global UK Construction PMI came in at 46.1, higher than 44.3 in the previous month and the consensus estimate of 45. The latest reading marks the slowest pace of reduction in construction output since January.
