Cheniere Energy, Nvidia, Steel Dynamics And More On CNBC’s ‘Final Trades’

On CNBC’s “Halftime Report Final Trades,” Jim Lebenthal, partner and chief market strategist at Cerity Partners, picked Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LNG).

The Houston-based liquefied natural gas company is set to post third-quarter earnings on Thursday, Oct. 29, before the market opens. Analysts expect Cheniere to report quarterly earnings of $4.79 per share on revenue of $5.47 billion.

Lebenthal also named Cheniere as his final trade on Sept. 9.

Supporting his view, RBC Capital analyst Elvira Scotto maintained Cheniere Energy with an Outperform rating on Aug. 24 and raised the price target from $300 to $319.

Joshua Brown, co-founder and CEO of Ritholtz Wealth Management, chose Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA).

Supporting his view, Cantor Fitzgerald analyst C.J. Muse reiterated an Overweight rating on Nvidia on Oct. 1 and maintained a $350 price target.

Stephanie Link, chief investment strategist, head of investment solutions and equity portfolio manager at Hightower Advisors, recommended Antofagasta plc (OTC:ANFGF).

Joseph M. Terranova, senior managing director for Virtus Investment Partners, picked Steel Dynamics, Inc. (NASDAQ:STLD).

Steel Dynamics issued a weak earnings forecast for the third quarter on Sept. 17. The company said it sees third-quarter GAAP EPS of $5.34 to $5.38, versus market estimates of $5.66.

  • Cheniere Energy rose 1.8% to settle at $274.93 on Monday.
  • Nvidia shares gained 2.1% to close at $238.90 on Monday.
  • Antofagasta shares gained 0.3% to close at $51.02 during the session.
  • Steel Dynamics shares gained 3.9% to settle at $241.04 on Monday.
