In the last year, multiple insiders have substantially increased their holdings of PSG Financial Services Limited (JSE:KST) stock, indicating that insiders' optimism about the company's prospects has increased.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Independent Non-Executive director Petrus Mouton for R9.6m worth of shares, at about R28.72 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, at around the current price, which is R30.84. That means they have been optimistic about the company in the past, though they may have changed their mind. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. Happily, the PSG Financial Services insiders decided to buy shares at close to current prices.
