French bonds have once again outperformed other European bonds. The difference in yield between French and German 10-year treasury bonds once widened by 10 basis points to 138 basis points, and investors continued to absorb the increased risk brought about by the financial pressure brought about by budget negotiations in the coming months. Before the spread between France and Germany widened, ECB Governing Council member Emmanuel Moulin said that the current state of the French bond market was not enough to prompt the ECB to intervene. French treasury bonds rose with the European government bond market on Tuesday, but then recovered some of the gains; French 30-year treasury yields rose 7 basis points to 5.37% on Wednesday.
