06:02 AM EDT, 10/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- European Union member states largely agreed that the G7's emergency oil release will not require additional volumes and any further supply should remain within the amounts agreed in March, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday. Several EU nations also seek an impact assessment from the International Energy Agency, according to a memo seen by the news outlet. On Oct. 2, G7 leaders said they agreed to a coordinated release of 100 million barrels of diesel and crude stocks over the next four months. The European Commission and the International Energy Agency did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
