11:10 AM EDT, 10/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Middle East Paper Co (SASE:1202), d/b/a Mepco, filed a new lawsuit against both the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the National Water Co. The paper manufacturer filed the administrative lawsuit at the Administrative Court in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, seeking 77.3 million Saudi riyals in equivalent rent for the authorities' use of its expropriated property between September 2007 and December 2016, according to a Wednesday release. The latest claim is based on updated valuations from three accredited real estate valuers. The Administrative Court of Appeal earlier annulled an assessment committee's valuation of the compensation of 2.6 million riyals. The committee then estimated the rent value at 8 million riyals, which the company did not accept.
