The Zhitong Finance App learned that OpenAI has updated GPT-6 with a new feature called Intelligent UI (Intelligent Interactive Interface), which enables ChatGPT to answer user questions in an interactive and visual manner.

The feature will be available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscribers starting Wednesday, and will be rolled out to Free and Go users the next day. Unlike some other US-only updates, the smart interactive interface was released globally.

“We've trained GPT-6 to use text, visual elements, and interactive elements to organize answers and choose how to combine them based on your questions,” OpenAI, supported by Microsoft (MSFT.US), said in a blog post on Wednesday. “With an intelligent interactive interface, replies can include graphics, clickable buttons, forms, charts, and interactive experiences that can be used directly in the conversation.”

OpenAI added, “The way the response is presented depends on your specific question. Comparative questions are probably best presented side by side. Explanatory content may be easier to understand through interactive diagrams. When plain text answers are most appropriate, ChatGPT will also provide you with a concise text response.”

The intelligent interactive interface is driven by a native, streamable component library, and is equipped with a compiler to process UI elements while the model generates content.

“There is still work to be done to improve the model's design judgment and expand the content it can create, but the intelligent interactive interface marks a major shift in how people interact with ChatGPT,” OpenAI said.
