The Zhitong Finance App learned that coal stocks rose in the morning. As of press release, China Shenhua (01088) rose 3.85% to HK$43.72; China Coal Energy (01898) rose 3.55% to HK$10.51; Power Development (01277) rose 2.46% to HK$1.875; and Yankuang Energy (01171) rose 1.76% to HK$11.59.

According to the news, India's power plant coal stocks are close to their lowest level in five years. It is equivalent to more than 40% of the country's coal-fired power plants. Currently, coal reserves are only enough to last for 4 days or less, increasing the risk of widespread power outages. Furthermore, the monthly coal export volume of Indonesia, the world's largest coal exporter, hit a five-year low.

Zheshang Securities said in the research report that coal prices will still fluctuate at a high level, and they are optimistic about the coal market in the fourth quarter. With a tight balance between supply and demand and the beginning of value revaluation, the coal sector ushered in historic investment opportunities. Cathay Pacific Haitong Securities, on the other hand, said that the policy to stabilize production and supply has been further strengthened, but the release of short-term supply increases may be relatively limited.
