12:26 AM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's (ABEA.F) Google rolled out real-time UK fuel prices on Google Maps using data from the government's mandatory Fuel Finder scheme, according to a Thursday release. To foster competition and lower fuel costs for motorists, the UK government has required petrol stations to report price changes within 30 minutes since February, or risk being fined. The British government said the system now covers 99% of all fuel sold nationwide. The data is also integrated into apps like Waze, Petrol Prices, the AA, Confused.com and RAC Fuel Watch.
