01:03 AM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Norske Skog (NSKOG.OL) will invest up to 850 million Norwegian kroner to rebuild paper machine 6 (PM6) at its Saugbrugs mill in Halden, Norway. The Norwegian paper producer said Wednesday that the rebuilt machine will have flexible annual production capacity of up to 300,000 tonnes of kraftliner or 230,000 tonnes of SC magazine paper annually, allowing it to expand into the fiber-based packaging market. PM6, which has been out of production since April 2023, is expected to resume operations in the first half of 2028. Norske Skog plans to fund the investment through financing measures and a proposed sale-and-leaseback arrangement involving the PM6 building and property.
