Shell Shuts In Gulf of Mexico Production Ahead of Tropical Storm Isaias

04:01 AM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Shell (SHEL.L, SHELL.AS) will halt production at certain assets in the Gulf of Mexico as part of preparations for Tropical Storm Isaias. The oil and gas company said Wednesday that production will pause at its Mars, Olympus, Ursa, Vito, and Appomattox assets, and that staff is being evacuated. Shell said that non-essential personnel from its Stones asset were already moved.
