05:26 AM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with the German government's statement) Germany's economy ministry will issue a prohibition order against the acquisition of 80% of voting rights in logistics group Konrad Zippel Spediteur by Chinese state-owned shipping group Cosco (C6G.F). The order follows approval from the Federal Cabinet to block the deal on security concerns, a spokesperson for the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action told MT Newswires late Wednesday. The ministry added that the deal would have compromised the resilience of supply chains in Germany and the European Union.
