06:49 AM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BofA Global Research expects Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize (AD.AS) to report higher third-quarter group sales amid expectations that the Netherlands-based food retail group will continue to outperform a "weakening" US market. Ahold Delhaize's group sales are projected to reach 23.07 billion euros in the quarter, up 2.6% on an annual basis, the research firm said in an earnings preview note. "We expect Q3 to show a modest slowdown from Q2, confirming a pressured US consumer backdrop, weak industry volumes and rising promotional intensity. Nielsen data suggest soft supermarket sales through the quarter, with Q3-to-date sales down 1.1% yoy and volumes down 4.0%," analysts wrote. "Against this backdrop, we expect Ahold Delhaize to continue prioritising market share gains over margin protection. Our US LFL of +0.3% implies a further deceleration from Q2, reflecting weaker volumes and ongoing price investment." Taking this and currency headwinds into account, BofA made changes to its financial forecasts for the company, including higher sales assumptions for 2026 through 2028. In terms of adjusted EPS, the 2026 forecast edged down 0.3%, while projections for 2027 and 2028 were lifted. The buy rating on the stock was retained, with a price objective of 44 euros. Ahold Delhaize is scheduled to release its latest quarterly results on Nov. 4.
