08:31 AM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Tadawul All Share Index closed out the week lower at 1.57% in the red as the continued geopolitical conflict dampened investor sentiment on Thursday. According to maritime security sources, there have been at least 12 attacks in the Strait of Hormuz during the period between Sept. 28 and Monday, the highest since the US-Iran conflict began in February. Speaking of oil, the International Energy Agency plans to release its oil stocks as quickly as possible. The move is related to its plan to bring 100 million barrels of crude and diesel to the market. Back at home, Saudi Arabia's business confidence index ticked down to 56.6 in September from 56.7 in the prior month. The indices for the construction and services sectors declined during the month. The index for the industry sector, on the other hand, edged up. "In September 2026, the BCI for the industry sector recorded an optimistic level of 56.3 points, marking an increase of 0.5 points compared to August 2026, when it reached 55.8 points. This increase was attributed to higher levels of confidence related to overall performance and expected sales for the following month," the General Authority of Statistics said in its report. On the corporate front, Saudi Automotive Services Co. (SASE:4050), d/b/a Sasco, shares ticked down 3.39% as it sold a Jeddah-based real estate property to Al-Hushoom Investment Co. for 20.3 million Saudi riyals.
