01:03 AM EDT, 10/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Shell (SHEL.L, SHELL.AS) launched partial operations at its Pearl gas-to-liquids plant in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar, after its processing plant was damaged in March during the Iran war. A spokesperson for the oil major told MT Newswires that the partial restart would allow the company to test production facilities and build inventory, while noting that ongoing shipments remain subject to regional security conditions and safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. The repairs to the damaged Train 2 are estimated to be finalized in the first quarter of 2027.
