02:15 AM EDT, 10/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Qitaf, a unit of Abu Dhabi National Investment and Development (ADX:ADID), or Adid, launched an initiative to develop agriculture supply chains and digital commodity trading between Tanzania and the United Arab Emirates. The initiative, dubbed Green Silk Road, will be in the form of a public-private partnership, and Qitaf will collaborate with institutions and strategic partners in Tanzania, according to a Thursday release. The partnership's initial focus will be on agricultural production, enhancing supply chains and developing storage and processing capabilities. Qitaf will also work with Tanzania Mercantile Exchange, or TMX, to further develop a modern digital commodity trading ecosystem. In the future, the platform plans to explore adding other commodity and asset classes, including carbon credits, minerals, and other strategic commodities, subject to regulatory clearances.
