Shell Closes Production in Gulf of Mexico Amid Hurricane Isaias

05:59 AM EDT, 10/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Shell (SHEL.L, SHELL.AS) shut in production at its Mars, Ursa, Olympus and Vito projects due to Hurricane Isaias in the Gulf of Mexico. It also completed evacuations from all these assets and Appomattox, the oil major said in a Thursday notice. Shell added it is continuously monitoring for potential impacts to its assets and operations in the Gulf.
