08:39 AM EDT, 10/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Transocean Ltd. entered into rig contracts representing $1.06 billion in firm backlog with Equinor (EQNR.OL) and Shell's (SHEL.L, SHELL.AS) Norske Shell, according to a Friday release. The offshore contract drilling services company's Transocean Norge was chartered by Norske Shell for 120 days. The $62 million two-well agreement will start after the semi-submersible rig's current operations in Norway and includes a single-well option. Additionally, Equinor approved the $1 billion contract for the Transocean Enabler, Transocean Encourage, and Transocean Endurance rigs in late September.
