12:25 AM EDT, 10/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Medincell's (MEDCL.PA) partner, Teva Pharmaceuticals, received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for Weltruza as the first and only once-monthly subcutaneous long-acting injectable formula of olanzapine for adults with schizophrenia. Teva aims to market Weltruza in the US in the coming weeks, according to an Oct. 9 release. The drug uses SteadyTeq, Medincell's proprietary long-acting injectable technology. As agreed, the Paris-listed biopharmaceutical company is entitled to mid- to high-single-digit royalties on global net sales of Weltruza. Medincell may also receive up to $112 million in development and commercial milestones, including a $4 million payment upon US approval and up to $105 million in sales-based commercial milestones subject to certain thresholds.
