06:37 AM EDT, 10/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Saudi Arabia is studying plans to raise its pipeline capacity for crude exports to 10 million barrels a day within two to three years, Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman. Speaking at the WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh, the minister said the plans include upgrading pump stations on the East-West pipeline and repurposing a gas pipeline to carry crude. Prince Abdulaziz added that the repurposed gas pipeline could carry oil until May 2027 before being cleaned and returned to domestic gas service for the summer. The kingdom is also working with Saudi Arabian Oil Co (SASE:2222), d/b/a Saudi Aramco, on dual-use capability so the line can carry either oil or gas, he said.
