08:50 AM EDT, 10/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Competition and Markets Authority opened a public consultation on Co-operative Group's proposed undertakings to address competition concerns over its completed acquisition of Southern Co-operative. The regulator said Monday it set an Oct. 27 deadline for interested parties to comment on the proposals. Under the remedies, Co-op Group offered to sell 15 convenience stores and two funeral homes in the areas where the CMA raised concerns in its phase 1 probe. The CMA has until Nov. 24 to decide whether to accept the undertakings or a modified version of them.
