On the 10th, candidates from many places reported that the IELTS test they had registered for was temporarily cancelled on the same day, and some candidates were even suddenly notified of the cancellation of the exam while the oral exam was in progress. The reporter learned from the British Council for Culture and Education, one of the organizers of the IELTS test, that the suspension of the exam continued until the 12th. Staff at the British Culture and Education Association's customer service center said that the Association is still discussing the handling plan, as to whether there is compensation and how to decide on a compensation plan, and there is currently no conclusion. However, candidates' requests can be reported to the Association through the email address provided in the exam cancellation notice email. However, the volume of e-mails has been quite high recently, and responses and processing may take a long time. The IELTS test in mainland China is organized by the Education Examinations Institute of the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the British Culture and Education Association. The Education Examinations Authority of the Ministry of Education responded yesterday that the suspension of the examination was due to a technical problem with the British Culture and Education Association and was unilaterally cancelled by the other party. Currently, the two sides are communicating and discussing follow-up issues.
