The Zhitong Finance App learned that US lithium-ion battery R&D and manufacturer Enovix (ENVX.US) surged more than 17% after the market on Tuesday. Earlier, the company said it had received an initial purchase order for 100,000 sets of batteries from an unnamed multinational drone system supplier. The delivery plan is scheduled for the first half of next year. The customer is gradually expanding the scale of use of Enovix batteries. These batteries are produced at the company's factory in South Korea that meets TAA requirements.

Enovix said that after successful initial deployment, the customer is expected to place additional orders for the project in the second half of 2027 and beyond.

Enovix said that this latest order means that of the $216 million potential project reserve previously disclosed, one was officially converted to a confirmed order awaiting delivery. At the same time, the company expects that more reserve projects will be converted into actual purchase orders in the next few quarters.

“Today's drone manufacturers are in urgent need of high-performance batteries from non-compliant Chinese supply chains, and this order shows that Enovix is capable of delivering,” said Steve Bakos, Chief Revenue Officer.
