12:26 AM EDT, 10/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Zealand Pharma (ZEAL.CO) is collaborating with Generate Biomedicines to develop artificial intelligence-engineered protein therapeutics for obesity and other metabolic diseases. The collaboration will combine the Danish biotechnology company's metabolic health expertise with Generate's generative AI platform to develop multispecific drug candidates with tailored biological functions, according to a Tuesday filing. Generate will receive a $30 million upfront payment and up to $35 million in early preclinical milestones. The company is also eligible for total milestones of $1.2 billion tied to development, regulatory, and commercial milestones, alongside tiered royalties on future global net sales.
