On a per-share basis, the Dr Veldhoven, Netherlands-based company said it had net income of $14.89.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $12.47 per share.

The equipment supplier to semiconductor makers posted revenue of $13.42 billion in the period.

For the current quarter ending in December, ASML said it expects revenue in the range of $16.3 million to $17.5 million.

ASML shares have risen 60% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 74% in the last 12 months.
