04:25 AM EDT, 10/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Metals One's (MET1.L) Black Schist nickel-copper-cobalt-zinc project in Finland failed to secure European Union strategic project designation in the current round under the EU Critical Raw Materials Act, according to a Wednesday release. The assessment concluded that the project is in an early stage of development and needs more work to prove its technical and economic feasibility, advance environmental and permitting activities, and close financing and offtake deals, despite recognizing its positive attributes. Following the decision, the critical and precious metals mining group is now reviewing its options for the non-core project.
