The Zhitong Finance App learned that recently, CCB (Asia) and China Construction Bank Shanghai Branch joined hands with Ant International to successfully complete a two-way digital yuan fund transfer of hundreds of millions of yuan. This business enables two-way instant settlement of RMB funds between Shanghai and Hong Kong, marking an important breakthrough in the application of digital yuan in the field of enterprise treasury fund management. It is also another practical result of collaboration between the two major financial centers in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
CCB (Asia) management pointed out that this cooperation focuses on the efficient collection and allocation of domestic and foreign capital of enterprises, and effectively addresses efficiency and compliance pain points in large-scale two-way flows through transparent and secure fund management plans. As one of the first institutions in Hong Kong to participate in the central bank's digital currency infrastructure construction, CCB (Asia) is happy to work with Ant International and China Construction Bank Shanghai Branch to complete this important practice. It not only fully reflects Hong Kong's pivotal value in the RMB internationalization process, but also provides an operating model that can be learned from and applied to future scenarios such as capital flows for overseas enterprises and settlement between the mainland and Hong Kong.
At the specific implementation level, CCB (Asia) relies on Hong Kong's position as a global offshore RMB business hub to efficiently complete the Shanghai-Hong Kong capital collection and settlement process to provide guarantees for the final settlement of funds. Thanks to the “payment and settlement” characteristics of the digital yuan, this transfer enables funds to be received in seconds, the entire transaction process is online and traceable, and the risk is controllable. While improving the quality and efficiency of domestic and foreign financial services in the real economy, it also helps enterprises reduce the cost of capital in transit in liquidity management.
