Ark Invest co-founder Cathie Wood said Wednesday that tokenization could fundamentally change how investors take part in private and public financial markets.

Wood Highlights Ark’s Conviction

In an X post, Wood highlighted the recent tokenization of ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX), an actively managed closed-end interval fund that invests across private and public companies tied to disruptive innovation, through Securitize Corp. (NYSE: SECZ).

“Tokenizing the ARK Venture Fund puts our conviction in the evolution, if not revolution, of capital markets into practice,” the veteran investor said.

Wood noted that tokenization “has the potential” to reshape how investors “access and participate” in private and public markets.

She added that the initiative is a “natural extension” of Ark’s core mission to “democratize” access to technological innovation.

The fund’s portfolio includes exposure to some of the biggest names in private technology, including OpenAI, Anthropic and Kalshi, though its biggest holding is Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX).

Through Securitize, eligible investors will gain exposure to the ARKVX portfolio using blockchain infrastructure.

Tokenization has emerged as one of the dominant financial narratives in recent years, with the total market value nearing $349 billion, according to Token Terminal. Stablecoins, including Tether (CRYPTO: USDT) and USDC (CRYPTO: USDC), account for more than 88% of the value.

Price Action: Securitize shares fell 2.56% in after-hours trading. The stock closed 5.72% lower at $10.55, according to Benzinga Pro.
