The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to TrendForce Jibang Consulting's latest “2026 Near Eye Display Market Trend and Technology Analysis”, AR glasses are gradually moving from concept verification to the consumer market. Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses have shown growth momentum that exceeds market expectations, not only increasing consumers' attention to AR glasses, but also driving brands and supply chains to speed up product layout. Benefiting from the spillover effects driven by Meta products, other AR glasses brands are also actively expanding their product lines and sales markets, taking advantage of the fact that other tech giants have yet to fully enter the market to take advantage of consumer demand for AR glasses as early as possible. TrendForce Jibang Consulting estimates that global AR glasses shipments will jump from 620,000 units in 2025 to 1.31 million units in 2026, with an annual growth rate of 111.1%.

Judging from the brand pattern, Meta will continue to lead with about 20% of shipments in 2026. The remaining four major brands include XREAL, Even Realities (XREAL), Rokid (Rocky), and RayNeo (Thunderbird Innovation). Together, the four will account for 53.2% of global shipments, indicating that brands other than Meta (META.US) have also formed a considerable market size. Among them, XREAL focuses on movie-watching AR glasses, and Aura, developed in collaboration with Google (Google, GOOGL.US), is expected to be launched by the end of 2026, further expanding the influence of the brand and products. Even Realities focuses on information-sensitive AR glasses to optimize the wearing experience with lightweight and external design. ROKID and RAYNEO use multiple product layouts to meet the different usage scenarios of consumers. The top five brands continue to expand their product portfolios and reach more consumer groups, becoming the main driving force for global AR glasses shipments to exceed one million units in 2026.

TrendForce Jibang Consulting said that along with AR eyewear shipments reaching record highs, it is estimated that OleDOS and LEDOS two major light engine technologies will together occupy about 80% of the market. OleDOS is slightly ahead in market share due to the widespread adoption of movie-watching products, but applications across fields are also limited. As a result, OleDOS technology has begun to return to a single green specification, trying to push downward into the information-sensitive product market and seek new breakthroughs in advance for the huge production capacity that is about to be released.

On the other hand, although LEDos, which focuses on lightweight advantages, is currently the core engine for the popularity of information-sensitive glasses, it will still be difficult to break through the full-color technical barrier in the short term. In order to break the limitations of a single green display, the supply chain is trying to create red and green two-color products to break through and expand application boundaries upward by improving the visual level of information recognition. As the two major display technologies, LEDOS and OleDOS, continue to break through specifications and application fields, and LCOS penetration rates are driven by Meta products, not only providing brands with more resources and flexible cost space, but also injecting strong momentum into AR eyewear innovation and scenario expansion. Shipments are expected to grow by nearly 80% in 2027.
