05:51 AM EDT, 10/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Covestro's (1COV.F) Belgian unit, Covestro NV, plans to restructure polycarbonate production at its Antwerp site in Belgium, potentially affecting up to 260 of 970 employees. The German chemicals company said on Thursday it intends to consolidate polycarbonate production into a single line from four lines and stop local production of the precursor Bisphenol-A, citing that its Antwerp operations have been "increasingly loss-making" since 2022. The remaining polycarbonate line would focus on higher-value specialty grades. No final decision will be taken until the formal consultation process with employee representatives is complete.
