09:41 AM EDT, 10/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Britain's competition regulator is assessing the undertakings offered by British Aerospace plc, now BAE Systems (BA.L), related to an acquisition on Nov. 29, 1999, according to a Thursday release. The undertakings, previously reviewed by the Competition and Markets Authority in 2017, included measures to safeguard competition and tackle national security concerns in the defense industry. BAE Systems requested to be released from the undertakings in July 2026, and the CMA is now inviting comments on the matter until Nov. 5, 2026. British Aerospace had acquired the Marconi Electronic Systems business of the now-defunct UK company General Electric Co. to form BAE Systems.
