02:40 AM EDT, 10/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK's Water Services Regulation Authority, or Ofwat, is proposing to accept a 280,000-pound-sterling enforcement package offered by Severn Trent (SVT.L) unit Hafren Dyfrdwy after the regulator found that it breached its legal obligations relating to wastewater treatment works and network. During its investigation, Ofwat found that Hafren Dyfrdwy failed in its duties to deal effectively with wastewater and sewage, the regulator said Friday. The enforcement package, which will be completed by 2030, will be funded by the company and its shareholders, and not through higher customer bills. Ofwat will take a final decision following a 21-day public consultation on the proposed package.
