On October 15, the 2026 China International Aluminum Conference, co-hosted by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, China Hongqiao Group Co., Ltd. (01378, hereinafter referred to as “China Hongqiao”), specially invited and co-organized by China Aluminum Group Co., Ltd. and China Electric Power Investment Group Co., Ltd., and hosted by Beijing Antec Information Technology Co., Ltd. and Shandong Aluminum Association, opened in Qingdao, Shandong.
Zhitong Finance learned that with the theme of “Partnering for New Quality and Building the Future of the Aluminum Industry”, the conference brought together more than 1,000 representatives of upstream and downstream enterprises in the aluminum industry chain from dozens of countries and regions around the world to have in-depth exchanges on core topics such as international cooperation, green and low-carbon, scientific and technological innovation in the aluminum industry, forge industry consensus, and discuss plans for the development of the aluminum industry.
Ao Hong, Party Secretary of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association; Gu Yu, Deputy Director of the Trade Remedies Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce; Zhang Bo, Chairman of Shandong Weiqiao Venture Group Co., Ltd.; Guan Yongchang, Deputy Party Secretary and Director of China Aluminum Group Co., Ltd.; Yan Hang, chief accountant and party member of China Power Investment Group Co., Ltd.; and Jonathan Grant, Secretary General of the International Aluminum Association, attended the opening ceremony of the conference. The opening ceremony was presided over by Jia Mingxing, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association.
In his speech, Zhang Bo said that due to the international situation and market fluctuations, competition in the aluminum industry is currently becoming more and more intense, but the application scenarios of aluminum are still expanding rapidly. Lightweight automobiles and integrated die-casting drive the continuous growth of aluminum used in bicycles. Photovoltaics and energy storage drive demand for aluminum. As the core material for liquid cooling and heat dissipation and 5G base stations, aluminum has become a “computing power metal.” At the same time, high-end aluminum alloys continue to break through technical bottlenecks and solidify the material foundation for large aircraft, low-altitude economy, and high-end equipment manufacturing. Relying on intelligent upgrading and recycling technology, the aluminum industry opens up a low-carbon cycle throughout the life cycle from mining, smelting, deep processing to recycling, and the aluminum industry is becoming a key hub for the integrated development of new energy, new materials, and high-end equipment industries. Zhang Bo said that China Hongqiao Group is willing to be a good “gold partner” and sincerely invites colleagues from all walks of life to share opportunities and win a beautiful “aluminum” journey.

After the opening ceremony of the conference, the launch ceremony for the “15th Five-Year Plan” China Aluminum Consumption Research was also held. Afterwards, important participants took the stage to deliver keynote speeches.
Taking advantage of this conference, China's Hongqiao will further deepen exchanges and collaboration with global industrial chain partners, focus on promoting the high-end, intelligent and green development of the aluminum industry, and help the industry cultivate and develop new quality productivity. As a co-organizer, China's Hongqiao will also continue to play the leading role of the main enterprises in the aluminum industry chain, work with all parties to share opportunities in open cooperation and jointly build the future of the aluminum industry through collaborative innovation.
