On October 16, Interface News learned from the Sinopec News Office that construction of China's first million-ton low-concentration CCUS full-chain demonstration project began at Shengli Oilfield. It is expected that the demonstration project started this time will be completed and put into operation by the end of 2028. The collected carbon dioxide will be injected into the reservoir through more than 70 gas injection wells, which can fully cover different types of reservoirs such as tanba sand reservoir, turbid rock, and shale oil. The project is simultaneously equipped with a “wind power+energy storage+direct connection line+CCUS capture” integrated source network load storage system. It plans 13 fans, a total installed capacity of 98.8 megawatts, an annual green power generation of 217 million kilowatts, and a direct carbon capture device to achieve a closed loop model of “direct green power connection and low carbon capture”, which is the first of its kind in China.
