07:49 AM EDT, 10/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Medicines Agency's human medicines committee recommended Danish biopharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma's Yuviwel drug for marketing authorization. The drug is intended to treat achondroplasia, a rare bone growth disorder, in children aged 2 and older whose epiphyses have not closed, according to a Friday release. The positive opinion is supported by a 52-week trial in which Yuviwel improved annualized growth velocity by 1.49 centimeters compared with placebo. The European Commission will make the final decision on marketing authorization.
