08:03 AM EDT, 10/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Medicines Agency's human medicines committee recommended Accord Healthcare's Fovlussea drug for marketing authorization, according to a Friday notice. The drug is intended to treat several eye conditions in adults, such as wet age-related macular degeneration, proliferative diabetic retinopathy, and visual impairment due to diabetic macular edema, choroidal neovascularisation, and macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion. The regulator issued a positive opinion based on data showing that Fovlussea is comparable in quality, safety, and efficacy to reference drug Lucentis. The drug remains subject to final approval by the European Commission.
