(SASE:4270) unit Commercial United Packaging Co. sold its polypropylene cups and plastic containers production lines for 1.1 million Emirati dirhams to Al Aamal Al Dhahabiya General Trading Co., according to a Sunday release. The Tadawul-listed paper and plastics manufacturer cited rising regulatory pressure and declining margins on single-use plastic products in the region among reasons for the divestment. Proceeds will be used to fund the company's operational activities, while an estimated 4.9 million dirhams will be booked as a non-cash loss in the group's financial statements.
