02:35 AM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Rheinmetall (RHM.F) and MSC will jointly acquire Romania's Mangalia shipyard for 138 million euros after winning an auction, according to a Monday release. The acquisition is intended to allow the German defense group and Swiss shipping company to establish a dual-use production site for both civil and military shipbuilding, including the construction of four naval vessels commissioned by the Romanian government. The acquisition is expected to close in a few weeks.
