06:57 AM EDT, 10/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BofA Global Research expects BNP Paribas (BNP.PA) to report "solid" third-quarter results on Oct. 28, with an 8% annual growth in both net income and net banking income for the three-month period. The research firm said it projects 3.29 billion euros in net income for the quarter, higher than the year-ago 3.04 billion euros, according to an earnings preview note focused on French banks. Net banking income is also forecast to rise to 13.54 billion euros from 12.57 billion euros. "BNPP should deliver a solid 3Q26, offering another data point in support of our view of an improving profitability profile, with earnings growth accelerating (revenues +8% YoY) on the back of notable gains in French and Belgian retail, Europe-Med, Personal Finance and Global Markets, as well as higher asset gathering profitability from the AXA IM contribution. Investor focus will remain on capital generation and distribution," analysts said. "We also expect BNPP to front-load part of its FY26 [share buyback], announcing c.EUR1.3bn alongside 3Q results, enabling it to distribute a 70% payout from 2026 earnings." BofA also noted the possibility of the group upgrading its return on tangible equity target for 2028 to more than 14%. The stock's buy rating and price objective of 130 euros were both maintained.
