Cerebras Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CBRS) shares are trading higher in premarket trading on Monday after a steep decline on Friday left the stock near its 52-week low of $126.05.
Friday’s decline followed a broader sell-off in AI and semiconductor stocks, fueled by concerns over AI financing, inflation and the prospect of higher interest rates.
Cerebras faced another potential source of selling pressure last week, when up to 19.4 million additional shares became eligible for sale under the AI chipmaker’s staggered IPO lock-up schedule.
Before this latest unlock, up to 14.6 million shares had become eligible for sale every two weeks since August 19.
Insiders have also been selling shares. CEO Andrew Feldman and CTO Sean Lie sold more than $240 million worth of Class A shares between August 20 and September 25 under trading plans, according to Benzinga’s insider sale data.
Cerebras shares have fluctuated this month, including a surge early in October after OpenAI CEO Sam Altman addressed speculation about the companies’ relationship on social media.
Altman described Cerebras as a “close partner” and said the two companies “have a deep engagement pushing on the frontiers of speed,” according to Benzinga.
Looking further out, the next major catalyst for the stock arrives with the November 19, 2026 (estimated) earnings report.
