Listen to the news

DraftKings Inc. (NASDAQ:DKNG) shares surged on Monday, driven by a price forecast increase from Wells Fargo alongside a technical rebound. The Nasdaq was up 1.65%, while the S&P 500 gained 0.66% and Consumer Discretionary is leading with a 1.7% gain.

Wells Fargo maintained its Overweight rating on DraftKings while raising its price target to $30. The stock also benefited from technical buying, rebounding after hitting a 52-week low of $18.35 on Friday.

Analysts Outline Upside Outlook

According to Benzinga, 27 analysts maintain a Buy consensus on DraftKings stock, comprising one Strong Buy, 23 Buy, and three Hold ratings. The average price target of $34 implies a 76.4% upside potential. However, Citigroup and Susquehanna recently lowered their price forecasts to $28 and $27, respectively.

Bank of America analyst Julie Hoover previously upgraded the stock to Buy from Neutral on Oct. 5. Hoover described prediction markets as a "win-win" opportunity for DraftKings, stating she expects the business could generate about $400 million in fees in 2027 alongside $200 million to $400 million in potential market-making revenue.

Focus Turns To Earnings

Investors are awaiting DraftKings’ scheduled Nov. 5 earnings report. Wall Street projects a loss 36 cents per share versus a per-share loss of 26 cents a year earlier, with revenue expected to rise to $1.40 billion from $1.14 billion.

Technical Analysis

DKNG is still in a longer-term downtrend, with the stock trading 2.3% below its 20-day SMA and much further below the 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day averages—14.2%, 18.9%, and 21.9%, respectively. That "stack" of moving averages overhead often acts like layered resistance, meaning rallies can stall unless price can reclaim at least the 20-day area and then build follow-through.

Trend structure also remains pressured by prior crossovers: the 20-day SMA is below the 50-day SMA (bearish), and the 50-day SMA is below the 200-day SMA following the death cross in October 2025. From a timing standpoint, the chart has also been working off a recent swing low in October after a swing high in August, which frames this move as a potential base attempt rather than a confirmed reversal.

The $18.50 level serves as key support, aligning with the 52-week low where buyers have previously stepped in.

DKNG Stock Price Activity: DraftKings shares were up 3.28% at $19.52 on Monday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
