The Zhitong Finance App learned that with the accelerated implementation of the power battery digital ID management system, the power battery recycling industry is expected to enter a new stage of standardization and digital development. “People's Daily Overseas Edition” reported on October 20 that China has begun to establish a digital ID management system for power batteries. Through unified coding and full life cycle information tracking, power batteries can be “traced back in origin and whereabouts”. By 2030, the comprehensive utilization of waste power batteries will strive to reach more than one million tons.
According to reports, the power battery digital ID card will record 96 items of information, including 54 items of basic information, 24 items of operation and maintenance information, and 18 items of recycling information, and will run through the entire battery life cycle through 24-bit coding. With the launch of the national NEV power battery traceability information platform, production information, operation and maintenance records, and recycling history of decommissioned batteries will be easier to search, helping recycling companies determine whether batteries are suitable for gradual use or disassembly and recycling, while improving the traceability of the source and flow direction of recycled materials.
The report uses Jin Jing Xinneng (01783) as an example to introduce its layout in the field of power battery recycling. According to reports, the company's recycling network covers Europe, America and Asia, and has more than 70 service bases; its battery treatment facilities use a fully automatic battery material production line, combined with intelligent identification technology and intelligent disassembly processes to achieve full chain processing from collection, safe discharge, and intelligent dismantling to efficient material recycling.
In the context of the gradual improvement of industry regulations, the technical capabilities, processing efficiency and compliance management level of power battery recycling companies are expected to receive further attention. The digital ID system helps promote the transparency of information in the recycling process, and supports the standardized treatment of decommissioned batteries and the entry of recycled materials into supply chains with higher compliance requirements. For Jinjing Xinneng, its global recycling network and automated processing facilities are expected to provide support for the company to adapt to industry standard upgrades and seize market opportunities for power battery recycling.
In addition, the relevant person in charge of Jin Jing Xinneng said in the report that the company has passed the three management system certifications of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. The density of harmless waste was reduced by 50% compared to the 2023-2024 fiscal year benchmark, achieving the target ahead of schedule; the company was also selected for S&P Global's “Sustainability Yearbook (China Edition) 2026”. The company said it will continue to use green technology to serve the power battery recycling business in the future.
Overall, with the gradual advancement of the digital ID system for power batteries, the industry is expected to speed up the establishment of a traceable and recyclable green recycling system. The layout of Jinjing Xinneng in terms of global service networks, automated processing and green technology provides it with a certain competitive advantage in the standardized development of the industry.
