07:53 AM EDT, 10/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- UPM-Kymmene (UPM.HE) teamed up with US ingredient provider Ingredion and Dutch wax maker Paramelt to develop recyclable paper-based food packaging using plant-based starch barrier technologies. The Finnish forest materials company said Tuesday that the collaboration aims to improve grease resistance and adapt paper packaging for demanding food applications. The partnership has so far led to a paper-based packaging structure that passed Part 1 recyclability testing at Western Michigan University.
