MEXICO CITY (AP) — MEXICO CITY (AP) — Amer Movil (AMX) on Tuesday reported third-quarter earnings of $1.41 billion.

The Mexico City-based company said it had profit of 47 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 46 cents per share.

The telecommunications company posted revenue of $14.53 billion in the period.

Amer Movil shares have climbed 11% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $22.90, an increase of 2.5% in the last 12 months.
