04:42 AM EDT, 10/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- House prices in the UK edged up 0.3% month over month on average in August, following a 0.7% rise in July, according to government land registry data published Wednesday. The average house price in the UK was 273,000 pounds sterling as of August. The house price index was up 0.9% on an annual basis, compared with the 1.4% increase in the previous month. Analysts expected an annual increase of 1.2%.
